I am learning that my thoughts really can control my reality, and I love it.

From ACIM...
Let us practice these simply steps today when we are faced with thoughts of fear or doubt: 1) Quietly step back from the thought. 2) Just look at the thought without trying to fix or judge it. 3) Place the thought in God’s Hands and don’t take it back.
As we still those distracting, separating voices in our minds, we will begin to feel a peace in the midst of the storm that is not denial but rather the truth of our being. And, it is from that peace that our healing answers will come.
Has anyone ever stopped to think about God's hands -- what do they look like? They must be full by now!

Finally have what I've wanted for... years, I guess -- financial security AND some free time! Unfortunately, I don't know what to do with myself, aside from sleep, read, watch TV and blog!
I'm working out with a trainer three times a week, so it's not like I can/should be getting physical 24/7. I think I'll see a movie today and contemplate the fact that sometimes one doesn't know what to do when one gets what one wants.
Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I know all about letting go -- whether it's in love, career, or anything else in between. Hell - I preach it to my friends and I usually practice it quite well.
But today I'm having trouble with the concept. I know that complaining, hoping, obsessing and reliving won't bring me closer to what I want. I DO know that. But I don't have to like it... do I?

Let me preface this by saying I am a HUGE fan of the original BSG; I think it still "holds up" almost 30 years later, and I have amazing, fond memories of the series in its original run and syndication. Yes, there were elements of schlock, but the themes are universal and really is quite spiritual
THAT SAID, I love, love, love the new Galactica. A friend of a friend of a friend brought over a shitload of new episodes from the upcoming season, and I'm in frakkin' heaven.
Anyone else watch this show and totally dig the spirituality vs. military themes?

Went to a BBQ place with friends and my dog (and their dog) today; Quincy's on Ventura in Encino. Man, animals always help put things into perspective. They illustrate behavior we can aspire to (patiently waiting for food to drop, knowing -- somehow -- that it will come) and behavior we can avoid (contant begging, knowing that it won't do any good).
Just another dog thought for today
